Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

On February 14, 1967, Arkansas adopted one of the strongest and most comprehensive Freedom of Information Acts in the nation. It gives our citizens an opportunity to look at a broad array of information at every level of government and to observe the actions of our government leaders. It also promotes and protects the rights of individuals to attend the meetings of policy-making, tax-supported bodies.

FOIA forms may be filled out online or paper copies may be printed, filled out, and delivered to the Berryville Police Department. See below for available request forms. Requests for 9-1-1 audio recordings must be filled out and turned in by email, fax, mail, or in person.

The Berryville Police Department accepts FOIA requests on a daily basis and is always willing to assist citizens in obtaining information. Most records requested by FOIA requests are granted and sent back to the requester. However, some records, such as open case files or cases awaiting judication, are not released as they are no longer under the jurisdiction of the Berryville Police Department.
