PENSION MOUNTAIN MIXED-USE TRAILS
Free and open year round. You can hike or ride at Berryville’s Pension Mountain-Johnson Spring Trails which are located atop Pension Mountain, just 6 miles south of Berryville, on County Road 501.
Johnson Spring was an important water source and an integral part of the city’s water supply. This spring provided water to the city, via a gravity fed water line, dug in the 1930’s by the Civil Conservation Corp. The spring preserve and park has a mixed-use-trail system for both motorized and non-motorized use.
Just minutes from town, the park showcases the rugged, but beautiful, Ozark Mountains with access to the historic spring. Challenging cross-country trails provide hiking, biking, ATV and horseback trails that meander across the back country and bluffs. With views to the city and surrounding countryside, the park provides an opportunity for a brief escape to truly enjoy our beautiful Ozark area.
